BKSDA catch Sumatran tiger wandering around Solok’s plantation area

Arosuka, West Sumatra – The West Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Office (BKSDA), with help from the residents of Nagari Gantung Ciri, Kubung Sub-district, Solok, West Sumatra, Sunday, captured a female Sumatran tiger that typically roamed around the plantation location.

” This tiger is the second one to have actually been allured following the first one– a juvenile tiger– on Saturday (June 6),” Afrilius, head of the regional preservation workplace (BKSDA), specified here on Sunday.

” Two tigers were captured, which suggests another tiger is still at big. To this end, the local villagers must remain vigilant and must to start with avoid going to their fields for a while to prevent experiencing the tigers’ mom that might act in a hostile manner,” he noted.

The tigers had supposedly roamed around the plantation area considering that their habitats were damaged and intruded upon by people to open plantations.

” Tigers rarely interact with people unless they are compelled. The tigers are believed to have actually been roaming for over a month in the Nagari Gantung Ciri plantation location and up to Nagari Jawi-Jawi Guguak at the end of Ramadhan (fasting month),” he kept in mind.

Earlier, on Saturday (June 13), a tiger had also entered a trap set up by regional residents. The tiger, estimated to be aged between 1.5 and two years, was instantly moved by the West Sumatra BKSDA to the Sumatran Tiger Rehab Center (PHRS) in Dharmasraya.

Afrilius thought that the tiger, recorded on Sunday morning, belonged to a herd of 3 tigers that were previously typically experienced by residents in a plantation area in Gantung Ciri.

It is thought that another tiger is still wandering in the area.
