Federal government lends top priority to taking on health concerns: President

Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asserted that presently, the federal government’s efforts were mostly targeted at dealing with the public’s health issues owing to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic followed by emphasis on helping with economic recovery.

” Once again, I would like to provide my command to the ranks of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and Economic Recovery, health minister, and the Indonesian Armed Forces in addition to the Police, for matters pertaining to dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic to truly become our focus, after which the economy will follow,” President Jokowi kept in mind at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

” This implies that our primary focus stays on health, particularly the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, given that this is where the essential lies,” he kept in mind while opening the Plenary Cabinet Session on Health Management and Economic Recovery for Reinforcing Reforms in 2021.

During the session consisting of guests– Vice President Ma’ ruf Amin, the ranks of the ministers of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet, in addition to leaders of the state organizations– the president highlighted that if the general public health condition improves, the economic conditions too would show an improvement.

Jokowi noted that managing public health was the essential to healing from the crisis emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic.

” Once once again, if the handling of COVID-19 is good and if the health sector is good, the economy will likewise enhance,” he specified.

The head of state pointed out that the acceleration of efforts to assist in domestic financial recovery exceptionally counted on the results of carrying out policies on managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

” Let us not be bogged down by health matters in the event of improper handling of COVID-19 issues.

According to data from the COVID-19 Managing Job Force, since Sunday, (Sept 6), the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia had reached 194,109, with 138,575 patients recovering from the illness and 8,025 succumbing to the virus.
