Jokowi performs morning exercise with Military Chiefs of Staff

Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) performed an exercise with the Indonesian Army Chief of Personnel, Flying Force Chief of Personnel, and Navy Chief of Staff in the Bogor Presidential Palace remain in West Java, Sunday early morning.

” Today I asked the Army Chief of Staff, Flying Force Chief of Staff, and Navy Chief of Staff to go on a morning run, as health is of the utmost essential at the minute to enhance our body immune system and maintain our body’s condition,” President Jokowi stated in a statement from the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java, Sunday.

The President conveyed the message for the Military Forces to continue to help in enforcing discipline amongst the public, to abide by health protocols.

The practice of discipline in the execution of these procedures is deemed needed in order to guarantee that people can remain efficient while staying safe from COVID-19 transmissions.

” Continue to discipline the general public to abide by health protocols connected to wearing masks, washing hands, keeping a range, and avoiding crowds of individuals. I believe that we must continue to convey (this message) to the general public,” Jokowi stated.

The President also extended his thankfulness towards the Military that had played their function in imposing discipline amongst the general public towards health protocols, in addition to helping with evacuation efforts of Indonesians who were overseas throughout the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak.

” Back in the months of January and February, the Military Forces also helped in evacuating our residents who were found in Wuhan and Japan, as well as a variety of evacuations for Indonesian ship team members to be repatriated back home. These are what I have conveyed to them,” he continued.

President Jokowi, together with Indonesian Army Chief of Personnel General Andika Perkasa, Flying Force Chief of Staff Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, and Navy Chief of Personnel Admiral Yudo Margono were seen on their walk around the Bogor Arboretum at 8 AM, while still wearing masks and maintaining their distances.

After around 30 minutes of exercise, the President and Military Chiefs headed back to the Main Structure of the Presidential Palace for a discussion in the palace’s terrace.
