KPK seizes 3.3-hectare palm oil plantation in Nurhadi graft case

At least 33 thousand square meters of palm oil plantation located in Padang Bulu Lama Village, South Barumun Sub-district, Padang Lawas District, North Sumatra, was taken

Jakarta – The Corruption Obliteration Commission (KPK) seized 3.3 hectares of palm oil plantation in Padang Lawas, North Sumatra, over a graft case involving previous Supreme Court (MA) Secretary Nurhadi.

” A minimum of 33 thousand square meters of palm oil plantation situated in Padang Bulu Lama Town, South Barumun Sub-district, Padang Lawas District, North Sumatra, was taken,” acting representative of KPK Ali Fikri kept in mind in a declaration here on Thursday.

The commission also seized from a witness Rp100 million in cash, apparently the yield of the palm oil plantation.

KPK’s investigators have continued to work carefully with the Padang Lawas prosecutor to examine the graft case.

” On Wednesday (Sept 2), KPK’s private investigators grilled some witnesses and seized some assets allegedly associated to NHD (Nurhadi) in the form of the palm oil plantation and its related documents in Padang Lawas District, North Sumatra,” he noted.

The KPK had earlier seized 530.8 hectares of palm oil plantations in the district in connection with the case.

Nurhadi and his son-in-law Rezky Herbiyono were called graft suspects for allegedly accepting bribes in the kind of nine cheques and Rp46 billion (US$ 3.2 million) in cash in connection with 3 cases managed at the Supreme Court in between 2011 and 2016.

The commission also called PT Multicon Indrajaya Terminal Director Hiendra Soenyoto as suspect for promising Nurhadi 9 cheques from the company.
