Anies Baswedan Announces ‘Ideal’ COVID-19 Isolation, ICU Occupancy Rate

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan on Sunday’s written statement announced that the city’s COVID-19 isolation bed and ICU patient occupancies across 98 hospitals had reached 60 percent from October to early November, which is the ideal occupancy rate.

“This means the Jakarta administration will be prepared for any future spike in cases,” Anies Baswedan wrote on November 8. 

The data from October 10 – November 7 suggests that the isolation bed occupancies saw a constant drop from 66 percent on October 10 to 54 percent on October 31st. However, a slight increase to 56 percent was recorded on November 7.

Meanwhile, ICU facilities occupancy rate recorded 67 percent on October 10 and gradually declined to 59 percent on October 31 but went up to 60 percent on November 7. 

Governor Anies Baswedan once expressed his fears about the city’s ability to accommodate COVID-19 isolation and ICU patients that saw an increase in August, which saw him impose the PSBB social restriction on September 14 that did not last a month and relaxed the restriction again on October 12.
