Blok S Food Court Closed as Four Traders Contract COVID-19

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Blok S food court or known as Pujasera Blok S in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta was idnewsnowrarily closed after a number of traders were confirmed positive for COVID-19. The closure took effect for three days on August 13-15, 2020.

“This decision refers to the Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation No. 51/2020 on the Implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) during the transition period towards a healthy, safe, and productive community,” said Kebayoran Baru Subdistrict Head Tommy Fudhihartono on Wednesday, August 12.

Before the closure, Kebayoran Baru Subdistrict Leadership Forum (Muspika) had coordinated with the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) and other related stakeholders.

The meeting concluded that the closure was necessary given the results of swab tests on July 29, 2020. “The swab tests reveal that four traders positive COVID-19,” Tommy said.

According to him, the four traders were being treated at Duren Sawit Hospital, East Jakarta. “One of them has been sent home because the last swab test turns back negative.”

Tommy hoped the three-day closure of Blok S food court could break the chain of COVID-19 transmission in the area so that the traders and buyers could resume their activities safely once the site is reopened.
