Hair Salons to Open Under Limited Duration

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Jakarta Administration’s tourism and creative economy agency on Friday released a health protocol for hair salons which permits this business segment to open starting on June 15. Head of the agency, Cucu Ahmad Kurnia asserts that salons must limit the duration of each customer visit.

“The service time per person is limited to 120 minutes,” said Cucu in a written statement from L’Oreal Indonesia on Friday, June 12.

The operational hours of salons will also be limited accordingly to the government’s regulation along with restricting physical human-to-human contacts by applying shifts and physical distancing measures.

The tourism and creative economy head also requires hair salon visitors to be screen-tested and have their temperature tested, apart from other mandatory rules such as the face mask rule.

Hair salon managers must also constantly sterilize the equipment used for customers. Hairdressers must also comply with another set of safety rules such as the requirement to wear masks, face shields, and special gloves.

Lastly, the agency encouraged hair salon consumers to book an appointment prior to visiting the salon.
