Amnesty International Indonesia has actually called for an extensive examination into the current death of 21- year-old George Karel Rumbino in the custody of the Sorong City Cops in West Papua.

He passed away on Aug. 27 after investing less than 24 hours in the custody of the Sorong City Authorities, who detained him for questioning in connection with a homicide case involving the robbery and rape of a 70- year-old female.

Sorong City Authorities criminal examination head Adj. Comr. Misbachul Munir declared that cops “needed to shoot” George in the legs since he tried to get away arrest.

National Police representative Insp. Gen. Argo Yuwono said that the West Papua provincial police had set up a group to examine George ' s death.
” The team will examine if any unlawful treatments were involved throughout the suspect ' s [George's] arrest. We will perform disciplinary action against any officers who are condemned [sic] of breaching [police] procedures,” Argo stated.
Usman said separately that any policemen found to have dedicated procedural offenses that led to George ' s death ought to be taken to court.
