Ministry opens registrations for medical specialist scholarships

The provision of scholarships for health employees is consisted of within the health human resources change main program, namely the provision and quality improvement of health employees.

Jakarta – The Ministry of Health opened registrations for the second round of the Medical Professional and Sub-Specialist Education (PPDS-Subspesialis) and Primary Service Family Doctor (KKLP) Assistance Program for 2023 on Monday.

” This program is a scholarship program that can be utilized as an effort to fulfill, adjust, and improve the quality of health employees in Indonesia,” health worker provision director at the ministry, Oos Fatimah Rosyati, stated.

PPDS-Subspesialis and KKLP are programs that are being carried out as part of the health transformation effort of the ministry, she informed at an online interview on Monday.

Among the keys for understanding the 6 pillars of health improvement outlined by the ministry is the transformation of health human resources, she added.

” The provision of scholarships for health employees is consisted of within the health human resources change main program, specifically the provision and quality improvement of health employees,” she stated.

The absence of medical professionals and unequal distribution of medical experts in Indonesia is among the reasons the PPDS-Subspecialis and KKLP programs have been started.

The ministry is working together with the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) for using the programs. In 2021, scholarships were granted to 600 receivers, and their number increased to 1,676 in 2022.

This year’s scholarship quota for PPDS-Subspecialis and KKLP is 2,170 From this figure, 984 scholarships were granted in the preliminary and the rest will be given up the second round.

Registrations will remain open till July 12, 2023, and can be completed online through the site sibk.kemkes.go.id

” All health workers are anticipated to be able to access details related to this program more easily with this,” Rosyati stated.
