No extension of party registration for 2024 election: KPU

Jakarta – The General Elections Commission (KPU) member Idham Kholik reiterated that there would be no extension of registration of political celebrations as prospects for the 2024 basic election.

” We have worried this numerous times in our explanations to the public. We told (political parties) to finish the files because the registration duration would not be extended. We will provide time until 23.59 WIB (western basic time) today,” Kholik stated here Sunday.

KPU would accumulate the registration documents on Monday (15/ 8) morning. If the documents uploaded to the Political Party Details System (Sipol) are insufficient by 23.59 WIB, the registration procedure of the party can not be continued, he said.

Celebrations whose dossiers are incomplete by 23.59 WIB will be declared as celebrations that do not sign up as candidates for the 2024 general election.

” For those who bring complete documents before 23.59 WIB, we will check them. After we verified that (the needed documents) are total, we will issue registration receipts even though they have actually passed 23.59 WIB,” he included.

As of Saturday (13/ 8), the KPU had tape-recorded 10 political parties whose dossiers were incomplete. Of the 10 celebrations, two of them have finished their files on Sunday.

” The 2 parties have actually returned to the KPU, and after we examined the files at Sipol, they were 100 percent. The celebrations are the Republiku Indonesia Celebration and Parsindo (Indonesian Individuals’s Voice Party),” he stated.

They are the National Unity Celebration, the Republican Politician Work Celebration, the Nation’s Assistance Party, the Bhinneka Indonesia Celebration, the Masyumi Party, the Town Awakening Movement Celebration (Perkasa), the Nation’s Love Peace Celebration, the One Republic Celebration, the Sovereignty Celebration, and the People’s Party.
