Over 5,300 homes flooded in W Java’s Karawang district

Karawang, W Java – Floodwaters swamped 5,303 homes in Karawang district, West Java, on Tuesday, requiring 3,396 people to flee to drier ground, stated authorities.

The homes were found in 30 towns in 17 sub-districts, according to data offered by the Karawang district military command’s task force.

The flood followed heavy rains over the previous few days.

There were no instant reports of casualties or injuries.

While going to two flood-stricken locations on Tuesday, Karawang district head Cellica Nurrachadiana appealed to all sides to offer help to flood evacuees soon.

He said lots of flood evacuees were expecting immediate help in the kind of blankets, food, and infant kits.

” We also ensure that their everyday requirements will be fulfilled, especially nutrition consumption. We will likewise attempt to build another public kitchen area. The command post is prepared to work together with military and authorities workers (to manage the impact of the flood),” he stated.
