Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), on Wednesday, accepted letters of qualifications presented by 7 ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
This occasion marks the official placement of the 7 ambassadors:
1. Homeowner Ambassador Benedetto Latteri of the Republic of Italy
2. Homeowner Ambassador Iv Heang of the Kingdom of Cambodia
3. Homeowner Ambassador Taesung Park of the Republic of Korea
4. Resident Ambassador Johannes Peterlik of the Republic of Austria
5. Homeowner Ambassador Manuel Antonio Saturno Escala of the Republic of Panama
6. Citizen Ambassador Lars Bo Larsen of the Kingdom of Denmark
7. Citizen Ambassador Sung Yong Kim of the United States of America
The presentation of letters started with a welcome event at the Merdeka Palace lawn where the national anthems of the particular nations were played.
All ceremonial procedures were carried out in accordance with the set COVID-19 protocols, consisting of wearing masks and preserving safe distancing.
Among a number of high-ranking officials were Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, who accompanied the president throughout this event.
