City Council to Hold Plenary Meeting on Jakarta Anniversary

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) planned to hold a plenary meeting to commemorate this year’s Jakarta anniversary on Monday, June 22.

“Based on the results of the Steering Committee (Bamus) meeting, the plenary meeting on the city’s anniversary is decided on Monday,” said the Council’s deputy speaker, Abdurahman Suhaimi, on Friday, June 19.

Suhaimi explained the decision was made during Bamus’ previous meeting. The session concluded the plenary meeting on the city’s 493rd anniversary would be held under the COVID-19 health protocols.

In addition, the number of participants will be limited, or at 106 people, consisting of councilors, the governor, the deputy governor, mayors, regents, and other city officials.

Jakarta DPRD Secretary Hadameon Aritonang said the health protocols included body temperature checks, the provision of hand sanitizer, and the mandatory of face masks. The seating distance has also been arranged in accordance with the physical distancing order.

“We have prepared all under the health protocols, including arranging the seating of participants in a safe distance,” Hadameon added.
