KSPI Challenges Job Creation Law Inked by Jokowi at Constitutional Court

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Indonesian Worker Union Confederation (KSPI) President Said Iqbal announced that his side has filed for a judicial review of Law No. 11/2020 or Job Creation Law at the Constitutional Court. The law has been signed by President Joko Jokowi Widodo.

“The judicial review of Job Creation Law No. 11/2020 has been registered this morning at Constitutional Court,” said Iqbal to Tempo today, November 3, 2020.

KSPI and KSPSI AGN filed a lawsuit after quickly reviewing and analyzing the copy of the law, particularly the labor cluster. “After we studied it, almost all contents on the employment cluster are detrimental to workers,” said Iqbal.

Other than the constitutional effort, KSPI planned to continue peaceful demonstrations and strike based on the workers’ constitutional rights in compliance with the applicable rules.

“We also demand the House of Representatives (DPR) to issue a legislative review of Law No. 11/2020 and disseminate the contents of Job Creation Law which harm workers without presenting hoax or disinformation,” Iqbal remarked.
