Jakarta – An undersea earthquake of magnitude 5.0 struck the eastern Indonesian district of Seram Bagian Timur on early Thursday, though no tsunami caution was issued.
The earthquake, centered 23 kilometers north of Bula in Seram Bagian Timur, struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the official site of the Meteorology, Meteorology, and Geophysics Firm (BMKG).
No casualties or injuries were reported.
A magnitude of 5.0 is calculated as a moderate earthquake and efficient in causing substantial damage.
